How can a pair of shoes just GO MISSING?! Remember those Banana Republic nude heels? Yeah well i took them out of my trunk Monday and by today? Missing. I mean completely GONE. My suspicion? That my sister and i left them in the hallway by mistake, and someone swiped them.

My Last Supper
1. "Robin" nude platform sandals from Banana Republic that i'd been eyeing for quite awhile. The good news is that i got them for basically 50% off after lots of complicated coupon-ning/having S buy them for me in NYC/etc. They are insanely comfy and just need a pair of heel grips to keep them from slipping off. Nude is huge this season and really do make your legs seem miles-long.
2. The devafuser hair diffuser that i first read about in a magazine, ripped out the page, then decided it wasn't worth it. THEN i read about it via Nina from Femme Rationale, and her promises of voluminous hair were enough to convince me that it was definitely worth trying. (i love me some big Texas hair!) Looks crazy eh?
3. This thin cotton nautical/French striped tee from the GAP. Being top-heavy, i normally don't do horizontal stripes, but the loose fit and low neckline of this tee actually seem to work in my favor.
4. These Boutique 9 "Idalia" suede peep-toe T-strap wedges (could i throw more adjectives in there??) that i scored at TJ Maxx for $29.99. They are a tiny bit on the snug side (a 7 when i'm really a 7.5), but completely worth the discomfort. ;-)
And that, my friends, is why i'm DONE shopping. I've been contemplating how long this Shopping Challenge should last... I'm thinking a month to start? We'll see how it goes.
In other news? I woke up this morning exhausted beyond belief, hating everything in my closet, and having a major "fat day". Bleh. Hope your morning's gone better than mine!

P.S.
My cable gets cut off today. i must confess that last night while watching a DVR-ed episode of Jon and Kate Plus Eight, i got un peu sad. Okay, a lot sad. It's going to be weird when i turn on the telly and get a black screen.
Also? Today is Day #1 of the Shopping Challenge. So far i have...
1. successfully avoided the Marc by Marc Jacobs sale on Gilt Group
2. ignored an email from Anthropologie kindly informing me that they are having a SURPRISE SALE ON CURRENT SPRING MERCHANDISE (almost had me pushing back the start date but then i realized, that was way cheating)

Red Robster and More Weekend Fun
Bonjour, dear friends. I hope your weekend was lovely and that you got more sleep than moi. Having 2 dogs spend the night is quite different than having 1 dog, lemme tell ya. Plus i consider Lola a pretty low-maintenance pup whereas Sofie, Ma Soeur's darling little beast, is un peu more complex. ;-) I woke up to a very tired Momma Park, a very tired Lola, and a huge puddle of pee in my kitchen. Who's to blame? SOFIE!
That being said, it's been a fun-filled weekend. My sister and her hubby arrived late Friday night, and it's been a whirlwind since then. Jenn (sis) and i spent Saturday getting pampered at the spa, hanging with the dogs, lunching, shopping, dining at 34th Street Cafe for dinner, and having a fun little photoshoot (planning to revamp my blog, more details to come as i will need your help!).
On Sunday, Momma arrived with LOADS of delicious Korean food. After a yummy lunch, we spent the rest of the afternoon bargain hunting. First we hit up Neiman Marcus Last Call where i found these gorgeous Michael Kors pumps for a phenomenal price.
Am wearing them today! Mom got cute Cole Haan flats and a to-die-for leather jacket for practically nothing. Afterwards we went to TJ Maxx where i found another pair of shoes (Studio 9 - black suede, peep-toe, T-strap wedges) for even closer to nothing. I know I've been on a shoe buying binge, and my Mom looked at me like i was crazy, but then i reminded her that starting Monday i would be on a spending hiatus, so this was kind of like, my "last supper". She found that hilarious, and therefore didn't interfere with my purchases. (In fact, she bought the Michael Kors pumps for me!)
Oh - funny/not-funny-at-all Mom story. As were perusing the shoe aisles of Neiman Marcus Last Call, i heard my Mom call out excitedly, "LOOK, MIYUN! [that's my korean name] STUDS!!" I looked up to find her holding a pair of black flats with, you guessed it, silver studs. My only response? "STOP READING MY BLOG, MOM!!!" (See previous post.) (Strictly entre nous, i must confess that i found this comment ever so slightly sweet and endearing. Especially since i know my Mom had no idea what "studs" were before she read my blog.)
Last night we met up with the bro-in-law for dinner at one of my Austin faves, East Side Cafe. A delicious end to a great weekend. I left Momma at my apartment with the pups, and she and Jenn are going to pop by the office in a couple of hours to meet up with moi for lunch.
Oh and the whole "Red Robster" thing? At dinner last night, my Mom started telling us a story about how she and Dad went to eat at "Red Robster" after seeing all these commercials for it. I just about fell out of my chair laughing, as i find the switching of "r" and "l" the funniest thing ever. I realize that makes me sound narrow-minded and slightly racist, but it's OK b/c i'm Asian, and she's my Mom, and i just think it's CUTE. In my Mom's world, "refrigerator" = "refrigilator", "Red Lobster" = "Red Robster", and "Royal Lane" = "Loyal Lane". Love it.
Ok should prob. get to work. ;-)

Tell Me About It, Stud!
I've always had a thing for studded accessories, and it's tres unfortunate (or fortunate, depending how you look at it) that i'm not shopping right now because if i were, i'd definitely be buying these...

These incredibly sexy yet tough studded heels from Aldo (shocking, i know). Because of that little platform, i'd also venture to say they're relatively comfortable. I think $125 is a bit much for Aldo (as i've heard their quality is not the best), but gawd, i can think of 10 outfits in my closet these shoes would complement.
The infamous vintage studded belt that SJP sported SEVERAL times in Sex and the City: The Movie. Supposedly the cast/crew knicknamed the belt "Roger" because it showed up so often. I've been trying to find something similar for months now, with very little success. I know Patricia Fields has a knock-off on her website, but i'd rather find one that has the same vibe but isn't so obviously identical. (And one that's more like $50, not $120.)
Last but not least, this INCREDIBLE Rebecca Minkoff "stud" morning after bag. I've lusted after the MAB for awhile now but just couldn't justify the price. The addition of the studs, however, has me over the moon and wondering if the bag could be a future reward for sticking to the Spending Challenge (although that sort of defeats the purpose, no?). It's perfect. Roomy enough, can be held as a handbag or thrown over your shoulder, neutral color, and just the right touch of rocker chic. I. Die. (But no.. i'm not pre-ordering. Le sigh.)
Btw, how scary is it that the first thought that popped into my head when i saw this bag was, "$685?? That's so CHEAP!" After seeing WAY too many $1200+ designer handbags, i've realized that i need some serious handbag detox. Once upon a time i thought anything over $30 was too much for bag! Now anything under 4 digits seems like a steal. It's a sad, sad world.

BLog Love
Just a quick little note before i snuggle into bed. Can i just say, i adore you guys?? Nothing makes me happier than seeing your lovely and often insightful comments. Much, much love. Once upon a time Hang On Little Tomato was a "lawschool blog", and i'm beyond thrilled that it's moved past that. I love connecting with all you incredible gals out there!
And speaking of... i recently got on Twitter and have yet to really get into it. But one of the people i do follow is my girl crush, Emily from Cupcakes and Cashmere. Today i noticed that she "twitted" about purchasing the black croc Tory Burch booties off Gilt the other day, and i almost died. I BOUGHT THOSE EXACT SAME ONES! I knew right then and there, we were totally meant to be besties. ;-) (I know. i'm totally lame) Anyway, Emily is doing a little give-away on her blog and picking a random winner tomorrow. It'll really be fate if i win...
Completely THRILLED that tomorrow is Friday!! Ma Soeur is arriving in Austin late tomorrow night, and i can't wait to see her. She's been busting her bum in Tokyo the past couple weeks, working 'round the clock. She definitely deserves the luxe pedicure and facial she's getting on Saturday! Mom, yes that one, is also driving down on Sunday. Here's to a fab Park ladies weekend!
Oh and one other thing. I'm so curious as to how some of these fellow female bloggers have created SUCH a following. Now this is def. not a fashion/style blog in which i post my daily outfits or anything like that and i am certainly no Kimberly Wilson, but i'd love to connect with more peeps out there. So, if you do happen to be a regular reader, i ask you to send my link to a couple of girlfriends, sisters, whoever you think might enjoy it.
