First, MERCI for all your wonderful comments on my last post. You are all so right! Almost every woman I meet says life gets better as you get older, and after all, aren't 30's the new 20's now (not that I'm 30 yet, but I have something to look forward to!)? Last night as I laid in bed, I began to pray, and eventually I found myself repeating one phrase over and over: "I'm scared, I'm scared, I'm scared..." But you know what, that's okay. Being scared at this point in my life is 100% totally and completely normal. And just saying it out loud, to God, on the eve of my 27th birthday made me feel a million times better.
AND despite everything, I woke up this morning giddy (much like I did when I was turning 5, 6, 15...). My Mom woke me up with a 9:30 AM birthday call, and unlike most days, I couldn't fall back asleep. Instead I checked my iPhone (thanks,
Marmie!) and began to read all my birthday messages. So much love! So much excitement!! I decided to hop out of bed and get myself a birthday bagel and let the day's festivities begin.
Funnily enough, my festivities begin with waiting for lots of people to make their way to my humble flat: Time Warner guy (getting DVR - yay! It's a steal when you live with 3 other people!), UPS guy (got a package notification yesterday... exciting!), and FedEx guy (Mom sent me my printer and DVD player). Then eventually, it's off to
Christopher Stanley to get a blow-out and then back here to don some faux lashes (if I can manage to get them on... so hard) and my sparkly ensemble and head to dinner! Merci for ALL your wonderful birthday wishes!! I'll share pictures asap!
