I'm BAAACK!

Well, sort of. I still sound less than pleasant, and I'm coughing up a storm. BUT, at least I'm not choking and can somewhat breathe, and most importantly, made it back to work today. I don't know about you guys, but this whole daylight savings business has made me UBER productive. I seem to think it's later than it actually is, and so I get a lot more done earlier! Last night I cleaned my apartment, did several loads of laundry, unpacked, and managed to get to bed by 11 p.m. This morning I woke up at 7, dropped off my dry cleaning, AND got to the office before 8:30. So weird!! But I love it. I love feeling productive after so many days of nothing.

I used to think that I loved being sick b/c then I'd have an excuse to do nothing but curl up on the couch w/ blankets, a good movie, and Lola. This nasty virus, however, has shown me that being sick kind of sucks, especially when the doctor cannot give you any meds to make you feel better immediately. "Waiting it out" is so not my cup of tea. More than that, I felt incapable of taking care of a lot of To Do's, which I hate the most.

Friday I was able to pull myself together enough to drive to Dallas (mostly for my Mom's tender loving care AND amazing soups, which totally brought me back to life). I spent the weekend being fed the most delicious soups and sifting through boxes and boxes of old jewelry. You see, once upon a time, my family lived in Lafayette, Louisiana, and my mom owned a jewelry store. As trends evolve, and old becomes new again, I knew I'd score some awesome finds. And oh, did I. I think I took about $1000 worth of jewelry (see below)... and there was still SO much I left behind! Sooo fun. Love getting vintage jewelry for nothing. :)

In other fun news, I have a very busy week ahead, including getting ready for dear Jennifer's visit! I'm SO excited and cannot wait to show her my city. Keeping my fingers crossed for good weather! Also coming up later today/tonight: November Goals (cannot believe it's already NOVEMBER!!!) and November Full Moon Dreamboard (check out October's here). Stay tuned, mes amies!!

P.S. merci beaucoup for all your get well wishes! j'adore you guys!!

Welcome Back! I have also been finding that I am super productive with the extra hour. I hope it continues for awhile.

There's truly nothing like being taken care of by Mom. Oh, and the jewelry looks AWESOME! You'll have to plan some fabulous outfits around it, and then take some pictures!

First, I'm thrilled you're feeling better, and agree there is nothing better than soup and mom to push things in the right direction. I don't get sick often, but when I do...it sucks. The situation I'm in now, with the yoga injury, is one of those where I can take a pill and curl up, but I have this guilt thing.

Now for the weird thing...I think we are long lost sisters. I lived in Lafayette, then my parents moved to Ft. Worth while I was in college. My sister lives in Lafayette now, as she married someone from there. How strange is this?? Keep feeling better. Hugs! Sallie Ann
