JERK!!

GRRRRRRRRRRR!!!!!!!!! Even though today wasn't particularly great, I made it to Bollywood class (despite the random torrential downpour) and was excited to get dance-y and sweaty. I got to class early so I hung out in the room next to the Texas Union Ballroom (where the class is held). This room has oodles of couches/chairs, and I was sitting in a chair flipping through a magazine and playing with my phone. When I noticed people going in for class, I gathered my things and walked the 10 steps to the Ballroom. Immediately I checked my purse for my phone and realized I didn't have it so I walked back into the chair room. I saw this guy walk away, he had been sitting somewhat near me. As soon as he walked past me i thought, "That guy could've stolen my phone." Call it gut instinct because sure enough, my phone was nowhere to be found. I turned around to find the guy, ran down the hall and outside, but to no avail. That asshole was GONE.

Le sigh. I keep telling myself that it's just a phone, and thank God it wasn't my purse or wallet or whatever. But this is the SECOND time my phone's been lost/stolen in the last 9 months. And what about phone karma?? Once, I found a cell phone in the park across the street from my apartment complex and went out of my way to call the people in the phone to find the owner. I mean, I'm a NICE person!! Why do my phones keep getting stolen??

Despite a SUPER fun class, I couldn't help but cry on the way home. Cry and think, "Why me?"

You are the 2nd person I know who lost her phone this week. Ugh hate it when that happens!

My phone was stolen a month ago. I understand your anger and frustration. I don't understand how someone can take something that isn't theirs. I'm really sorry and feel for you.

Why is the world full of asshats who steal from nice people? I would have cried on the way home too!

Your phone karma bank has been built up big time now, I'd say. I hope something lovely happens for you this week to make up for it. Hugs!

Mean people suck and to steal a phone is such a mean thing to do. Your Karma is built up and good things will happen..sooner than you. Sending many hugs from CT..

Oh, no! Things like that are sooooo frustrating. Your good karma will come back to you soon and it will be amaaaaaazing! Even if you look at yourself now, I bet you prefer your fantastic and creative life rather than that idiot's. By the way, Bollywood class???? How great sounds that!

That is awful - what a horrible thing to go through. What is up with people? I have never had my phone stolen (had my purse stolen once with all my cards in it - nightmare!). Worry about my iPhone as it has so much personal data on it. Sending you huge virtual hugs.

Ugh on all fronts. I'm so sorry to hear this, Carolyn! Especially on this month of tight budgeting! But maybe this is a way find a new, better, cheaper, faster phone and calling plan with more glitter and sparkles?

i'm so sorry to hear about that. it might be a good idea to report the theft to the university. i highly doubt they will find the guy who took your phone but at least you will help them keep track of the crime hot spots so they can let people in the community know (sorry, that's just the prosecutor in me).
