City Dreams

UPDATE: I added one more - I can't believe I forgot it! ;-)

I *love* Austin, I really do. It truly is the gem of Texas with its rolling hills, amazing local community, relatively cheap real estate, and fun music festivals. But having been here for 8 years and in the South pretty much my entire life, I often dream of moving to one of these cities...

And you know, perhaps someday I will. ;-)

Et vous? If you could live anywhere in the world, where would you live?

Oh and speaking of Austin, check out NY Magazine's travel story on my beloved city. Look and sound familiar?

My ultimate dream would to live in Paris on the Ile St. Louis overlooking the Siene. After that, it would be to live in a farm house in the South of France. In the United States it would be to live in the wine country of California and after that......Austin! I've always liked it.

Hmmm...? Hard for me to say, since I did just move to a new city. But if I had to do it again (with movers...no me moving furniture), perhaps San Franciso, London, or Boston. I'm sure I would love Paris, but I would first need to learn French.

Portland, Oregon or Seattle. Or back to SF. I'm actually going to be applying for jobs all over the country - we'll see what happens!

Ah! My favorite favorite thing to think about! I have a couple of choices all ready...Brussels (my dad is from Belgium and I really really love the city...spent numerous days wandering the streets, eating frites & browsing FNAC for comics), Zurich Another one of my old stomping grounds. I did my first year of college about an hour and a half in Zurich and would visit my great-aunt in the city every couple of months or so...Loved it! Also, pretty much anywhere in Switzerland would be ideal...I love the entire country! And travel is so so easy...San Diego Two words: Gorgeous weather!

Toss up between Paris and NYC..realistically NYC is the better option and since I live 45 mins away I get to visit whenever I want!

Paris - Hong Kong - in San Francisco (instead of across from it)

After many annual and bi-annual trips to Paris, I always envisioned myself living there one day. However, after reading the book "Almost French" and speaking to my friends that live who confirmed the "issues," I find Paris less appealing...oddly. It seems like blasphemy to say that out loud! LOL But then again, whenever I travel abroad, I am always so excited to be back in the U.S. I definitely need to appreciate the fabulous places within my own country more!
