Day 1... Fo Real.

This morning I woke up in my new NYC apartment... ahh!!! It's a crazy/exciting/fun feeling, and I'm so not used to it yet. Last night I came home in a prosecco-induced haze and fully intended on blogging about my day. But considering it took me about 30 minutes to convince myself to get out of bed, take out of contacts and brush my teeth, it's a miracle I didn't kick my laptop off my bed during the night. I slept beautifully despite only having 1 pillow and having to use a towel for a blanket (it's coming tomorrow), and now I'm sitting here wondering what to do next...

This afternoon I have a fairly important meeting so I plan to take it easy this morning/early afternoon. First things first - I'm starving and I need coffee. My sister and I went to a darling little cafe when we were here in April, so I think I'm going to try and find it.

As for my first day here, it was a bit rough in the beginning (had to drag 2 50-pound suitcases and 2 other bags up 3 flights of narrow stairs... by myself) but ended with a lovely al fresco meal at my friend's apartment (only a 5-minute walk away!). She has an amazing patio space and set up a lovely petite dinner party for 4. Delicious food and the most amazing vegan citrus cake for dinner! Oh and lots and lots of prosecco and white wine. I couldn't have asked for a better welcome. :)

The apartment is adorable and spacious but my room definitely needs some work. The walls desperately need to be painted, and I need do some MAJOR cleaning. But it's mine and in NYC and that's what counts! I'll keep you posted on my progress. *MUAH*
